Hey there! Thanks for dropping by.
I am Abhinav, a freelance journalist based in New Delhi, India, who has written for the likes of Android Headlines, ExtremeTech, SlashGear, KnowTechie, The Mac Observer, Financial Express, and Economic Times, among others.
For the sake of your convenience (if you're having a long day), I'm adding my author archives in a list:
- My work at Android Headlines
- My work at The Mac Observer
- My work at SlashGear
- My work at Financial Express
- My work at KnowTechie
- My work at ExtremeTech
- My work at iGeeksBlog
The Mac Observer (Author Archive)
I joined The Mac Observer in February 2024 as an evergreen articles writer but gradually transitioned to reporting and contributing to daily coverage of all things Apple. Here, I reported on Apple's ambitious AI plans, the company bidding goodbye to its EV, the launch of 2024 iPad Airs and Pros, and WWDC, among other important stories.
ExtremeTech (Author Archive)
My tenure at Ziff Davis-owned ExtremeTech (PCMag's sister site) was rather short but fruitful. If I were to describe the publication in one line, it would be: amazing work culture, helpful editors and management, and most importantly, lovers of em-dashes and technology. In this role, I reported on the hottest tech details, occasionally contributing to ET's daily coverage.
Financial Express (Author Archive)
Credit should be given where it's due: to this day, I thank the great minds at Financial Express, especially Saurabh Singh, for giving me my first break as a journalist. I say with utmost pride that I loved every day of reporting about literally anything that had tech attached to it. I couldn't be happier to have been part of the FE Tech Bytes launch, Indian Express Group-owned Financial Express' technology arm. Side note: Saurabh Singh and Priya Pathak are amazing people to work with.
SlashGear (Author Archive)
Again, SlashGear is an amazing place to work for. And I'm not talking about the years-long history of this blog. My advice to people stepping into journalism has always been: choose people, not the publication. Because someone once told this to me, and I still follow it. I got a chance to write some tech features and was also introduced to amazing editors, such as John and Keegan.
Android Headlines (Author Archive)
Android Headlines is an amazing place for every tech journalist who wants to push the limits and broaden their knowledge in tech journalism. Chris, the publisher behind AH, is an absolute example of how to keep things shining when sunshine goes for a walk. Despite the publishing hurdles in recent years, he hasn't wavered from the mission. And contrary to popular belief, AH gives you a roundabout of tech news, not just about Android. Editors I worked with, namely Arthur, Kris, and Justin, help you learn and prepare you for the rewarding journalistic journey that follows.
KnowTechie (Author Archive)
I better start with, why did I approach KnowTechie in the first place? In 2022, the tech publishing industry was in a better place than now, but something about KnowTechie's mission caught my attention. Its mission was to write for the non-techies who want to grasp the tech air. And while I have stopped writing for them a while back, their mission stays with me. So whenever I'm writing something and I come across any terminology, I try my best to break it down so that everyone is on the same page. I wish Kevin Raposo, the editor and owner, my best for the years to come. He's a one-man army.
Economic Times
I worked with ET's The Feed, previously known as ET Spotlight, where I edited and wrote stories covering a wide range and intersection of Entertainment, Tech, UK and US Politics, Trending, and more. It served me well in understanding the importance of pushing stories while adhering to ET's editorial standards, fact-checking, and SEO, in a time-paced newsroom environment. I was working under the mentorship of senior editors Gandharv Walia, Debjit Sinha, Aanchal, and Deputy Editor Arunava Biswas.
iGeeksBlog (Author Archive)
I got a chance to write about my favorite Apple beat, and this opportunity allowed me to help frustrated users fix ongoing issues or better optimize their iPhones. I am presently working here, writing evergreen articles and how-to guides to help folks and broaden my knowledge about the Apple ecosystem.
